Hellos and goodbyes

After this year's successful Christmas concert, we bid a fond farewell to our conductor of 8 years, Ted Howard. Ted has decided that with his retirement from work, it's time to try something new with his leisure time as well - we expect to hear reports of him taking up snowboarding some time soon! We wish him all the best for the future, and I'm sure he'll be popping in from time to time to say hello.

A big hello is due to our new conductor - Jack Smith. Jack is a relatively new face on the brass band scene, but boasts an impressive CV, and we look forward to a fresh start and a new direction under his baton. For more info on Jack, please see our About Us page.

Summer Concert - Sounds of Summer

Our summer concert is nearly here! On the 16th of July, join us in Bourne Hall for a brass band summer holiday. From sunny Spain to the English coast, there will be something for everyone.

Top of the bill will be our special guest, Owen Farr, renowned tenor horn soloist and solo horn with the top notch Cory Band.

Epsom & Ewell Silver Band are pleased to announce the release of their new CD, A Century of Harmony. Available for Â£5+P&P. Please contact us for more information on how to get a copy - hopefully we should have an online shop up and running fairly soon!

Alternatively, copies are available, along with copies of our previous releases Ewelltide Classics and Screenplay, from all of our concerts.

Owen Farr to guest in summer concert

More dates have been added to the band's calendar - please see the box on the right for more details. We'll have our usual summer concert with less than usual special guest Owen Farr - this year's theme will be summer holidays; Loseley Park food festival; a concert in Kingston's Canbury Gardens; and we will providing entertainment at West End Village Flower Show.

Centenary concert success

Our long-awaited Centenary Concert took place in Bourne Hall on July 24th, and was a great success - a full house, an awe-inspiring soloist and an excellent performance from the band. It was good to see so many former players, and a great time was had by all.

A full write up will follow later, but for now here are some new photographs of the band and our guest soloist for you to enjoy.
