The Epsom and Ewell Silver Band was formed in 1910 and will therefore reach the milestone of 100 years’ existence this year.
To mark this achievement, we have decided to put on a special concert in the summer. We will invite ex-players and conductors from years gone by to come and celebrate with us and we have also invited David Thornton, principal euphonium of the famous Black Dyke Band, to come and perform some solo pieces.
This will take place at Bourne Hall in Ewell and will hopefully coincide with other community groups’ celebrations to form a huge community festival. It will also be the 40th anniversary of the building of Bourne Hall itself.
We really hope that this event will bring as many people together as possible. Our audience and supporters have been an important part of band life over the last hundred years and this concert is as much for you as it is for us.
